Garage Door Installation
New build, renovation, or replacing a door that's had enough — we measure the opening, supply the door, fit it and the opener, and take the old door away. Free on-site measure and quote across Moreton Bay and North Brisbane.
The measure and quote
Nothing gets ordered off a phone description. We come out, measure the opening width and height, check headroom above the lintel, side room for the tracks, and whether the floor is level across the opening. Those four numbers decide which doors will physically fit and which opener suits.
You get a written quote covering the door, the hardware, the opener and the removal of the old door. If there's structural work needed — a rotten timber jamb, a lintel that won't take the weight, a garage that's been converted — you'll hear about it at the quote, not on the day.
Installation day
A straightforward replacement on a standard double garage is a half-day job. The old door comes off, the tracks are set and packed square, the door goes in panel by panel, the springs are wound and balanced so the door will hold at any point by hand, and the opener is mounted, programmed and set for force and travel.
Before we leave, the safety reverse is tested, the remotes and any wall button or keypad are paired and handed over, the seals are checked at the floor, and the old door and packaging go with us. You get shown how to release the opener manually so you can get the car out if the power drops during a storm.
New builds, renovations and awkward openings
On new builds we work to the opening as constructed, so it's worth getting us out before the render or the driveway pour if the levels are still moving. On renovations, the common surprises are timber jambs that have gone soft, an opening that's out of square by more than the tracks can absorb, and old tilt-door hardware bolted through the brickwork that needs making good.
Wide openings with the centre post removed, low lintels, sloping floors and sheds on acreage blocks all get built for — they just have to be measured first.
Shed and acreage roller doors
On acreage the door that matters is usually the big one on the shed. Wide roller doors on machinery and hay sheds carry a lot of curtain weight, so the failures are spring assemblies that have lost tension, curtains pulled out of the guides after being run into or wind-loaded, and bottom rails bent out of square.
Dust, chaff and grass seed get into the guides and the drum, and unsealed or gravel driveways mean the bottom seal wears through faster than it would on concrete. We work on shed roller doors, machinery bays and detached garages as well as the house door, and we can look at several doors on the one property in a single visit — worth saying when you book.

Frequently Asked Questions
- How long does a garage door installation take?
- A straightforward replacement on a standard double garage is generally a half-day on site, including removing the old door and fitting and programming the opener. Structural repairs to the jamb or lintel add time, and we'll tell you at the quote if that applies.
- Do you remove the old door?
- Yes — removal and disposal of the old door is included in every installation quote.
- Is the measure and quote free?
- Yes. We come out, measure the opening properly and give you a written quote before anything is ordered.
- Can you install a door I've bought myself?
- Ring us and describe the door and the opening. Whether it can be fitted safely depends on the hardware supplied with it and whether it matches your opening, so it's a conversation rather than a yes or no.
- Does the opener come with the door?
- It can. A new premium motor supplied and installed is $800 – $880 including GST, fitted and programmed at the same visit as the door.
